Adult Volleyball


    

We are pleased to offer well-organized volleyball leagues for a range of skill levels from recreational to competitive. These adult leagues provide a fun and engaging environment for players to come together and compete on the courts of a state-of-the-art facility making it an enjoyable experience for fans and players alike.

SEASON INFORMATION

SPRING SEASON

  • March 27 – May 24
  • Registration runs January 27 – March 20
  • Games played on Mondays/Wednesdays
  • $90/player
  • REVCO 4s AA/A and BB/B (Wednesdays)

LEAGUE INFORMATION

  • Ages 18+
  • The minimum roster size is 4 players with no maximum roster.
  • The 8-Week season includes doubleheaders and a 16 game guarantee.
  • The number of teams able to participate in playoffs will be determined by the Director early in the season; not every team makes playoffs.
  • Players may register as a free agent or join a private team.
  • Any free agents wishing to play together must email cwarmunde@vbsportscenter.com. 
  • Schedules will be posted online; please do not print the schedule as it is subject to change.
  • In the event of an ejection, players will be suspended for a minimum of 1 week, forcing them to miss the following game.
  • USAV rules govern all Virginia Beach Sports Center adult volleyball leagues.

DIVISION INFORMATION

Level BB/B – Consists of teams with a solid knowledge of the game and rules. Skill levels range from Advanced Beginner to Proficient Veteran.  Players have a basic understanding of rotational sequences, offensive concepts (i.e., 5-1, 6-2, etc.) and defensive positions but may be still working to solidify those skills.

Level AA/A – Consists of teams with a solid to superior knowledge of the game and rules. Skill levels range from Advanced Intermediate to Professionally Trained Athletes. All players understand rotational sequence, offensive concepts (i.e., 5-1, 6-2, etc.) and defensive positions and can apply them in competition. Game and player strategies are well understood (i.e., running offensive plays, identifying opponent weaknesses, reading opponents plays during volley, etc.) and the game is run at a high tempo.

LEAGUE POLICIES

  • All participants must pay their ADMINISTRATIVE FEES (one-time fee charged annually) before they can play in any Virginia Beach Sports Center program.
  • Any inappropriate language directed toward anyone in the facility is not tolerated and will result in a suspension from the facility.
  • Intimidation or threatening behavior can result in a suspension from the facility.
  • No food or drink (unless bottled/covered) is allowed on the court or track at any time.
  • Any ejection (albeit from a staff member or a referee) from the facility will result in a MINIMUM one-week suspension from the facility and an automatic one (1) game suspension. Multiple ejection consequences will be administered, as needed, by VBSC staff.
  • Involvement in a fight will result in a MINIMUM one (1) year suspension from the facility. Involvement in a second fight will result in a lifetime ban from the facility.
  • At no time shall a spectator enter the field or speak with officials, coaches, or players. Any spectator that enters the field to confront an official or another player will result in a suspension from the facility.

Feast Jam Game Rules
  • 20-minute halves (Running Clock)
  • Clock will stop under 1 minute
  • One full and one 30-second timeout per half (No carry over)
  • All games will be played with a 35-second shot clock. The shot clock will reset to 35-seconds on all offensive rebounds.
  • Each player gets 6 fouls before fouling out
  • 5-minute warm-ups
  • 3-minute half-time
  • Overtime will be 1 minute
  • Double overtime will be sudden death
  • Teams will be responsible for bringing their own balls for warmups
  • 7 team fouls = 1&1 // 10 team fouls = 2 free throws

Programming in the facility will begin, and the building will open to the public the week of October 12.
